Sounds just like one of the greatest receivers in the NFL — and it is. Julio Jones ranked in these spots in 2018, but it came at a cost. And not a price that he’s overly keen on.
At $14.3 million in average salary, Jones was the 11th-highest paid wideout in 2018, according to Spotrac. He drops to 12th among receivers in 2019 and has two years left on his deal.

However, Jones isn’t too concerned about his contract status.
“[Falcons owner] Mr. [Arthur] Blank has spoken,” Jones said, via The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “At the end of the day, his word is golden. He said they are going to have something between my bureau. As far as mepersonally, I just hold up my end and stay ready.”
To stay ready, Jones is attending mandatory minicamp after sitting outside OTAs, but isn’t fully engaging. Jones sat out minicamp this past year before the Falcons corrected his deal and promised a contract extension with this offseason.
“I only take it easy. I’m not out here to rush things,” Jones stated. “A lot of times men get hurt coming backagain. You get MCL, ACL and Achilles, things like that. Especially you’re an guy and once you come out here. I only need to take my time coming back in to it. You merely have to get back into it.
“I will be all set.”
Falcons head coach Dan Quinn is really on board with Jones’ offseason program — including not entirely participating at minicamp and bypassing OTAs.
“He’s been here some in the offseason as well at some other instances,” Quinn stated. “Again, he’s one of those who is close to returning to enjoying.
“He’s the sort of teammate that loves the mentorship piece of it, and he takes that responsibility seriously to help the group and many others ”
