Left-back Joe Jacobson scored twice as Wycombe beat Lincoln 3-1 to proceed towards the top of League One.
Jacobson scored a in five minutes and then went in via Michael Bostwick on the line.
Then, after 50 minutes had been pulled one back by John Akinde, Jacobson did it direct using Lincoln keeper Josh Vickers well beaten from a 75th-minute corner.
The convincing victory ensured Wycombe moved into their greatest league position in their history.
Lincoln missed players due to trauma and international responsibility and it showed together with Jacobsen’s double lending them a lead throughout, with Wycombe controlling.
Tyler Walker struck a pole for the Imps after the breakup but there was controversy after Danny Cowley’s men pulled themselves back.
Wycombe’s Matt Bloomfield and Lincoln’s Bruno Andrade were inside the penalty area with head injuries as Jorge Grant’s cross was converted by half-time sub Akinde but drama continued.
Bloomfield was down on the ground for almost nine minutes before being stretchered off, but it’s understood that he did not have to visit hospital.
Following Jacobson netted a third, Wycombe came near a time with Nick Freeman’s processor coming straight back to the bar.
