Texas Rangers at Milwaukee Brewers MLB Pick – August 11th

Yesterday, I didnt bet on the New York Mets and I am going to gambling on the Mets but I wished to take a couple of moments to recognize what this team is performing. After the Mets created the blockbuster move to get starting pitcher Marcus Stroman from the Toronto Blue Jays before the July 31st trade deadline, even the initial backlash was ferocious. Fans and the pundits were scratching their heads, and on paper, the move simply didnt create a good deal of sense.
The Mets were out of playoff contention and were rumored to be shopping some of the best men including Eddie Diaz and Noah Syndergaard. They kept their best guys all and earned Stroman from Toronto, in a bid. I saw it among the more confusing motions of the past decade and laughed and thought to Mets move that was average, fully assuming itd blow up in their face just like numerous transactions have previously.
And then something. They caught fire. And all the sudden this team needs to be feared in the National League. The Mets have reeled off fifteen wins and are back to the ideal side of .500 and so are just a half of a game back of this second NL wild card. And its not that theyre winning, its the way they are currently winning. Its a different hero every night for these miracle Mets. It appears that each night they get to a position where they are going to lose and discover a means to stage a comeback that is triumphant.
As they are placing the amount on New York today is too high to back them. But be sure to keep your eye on this group. Baseball is a humorous game, so much of its centered around endings. Things just appear to break your own way, when you have it. There are times when you can not get a win when you dont. The Mets have it. For the choice of today, well head to Milwaukee where the Brewers are seeking to sweep up the Texas Rangers.
The Texas Rangers have been at Milwaukee Sunday, hoping to prevent getting trapped. The Rangers have dropped four straight matches, two of those along with their season is winding to a close. While Texas didnt hold the fire sale which many anticipated at the trade deadline, they get talent and also didnt go out, along with the Rangers are nine games back of the 2nd card from the American League.
For the Brewers, they did a excellent job of incorporating several arms to their employees since they added men like Jake Faria, Drew Pomeranz, Ray Black, and tonights starter Jordan Lyles. Along with the moves are starting to actually offer a boost as they have won five consecutive games and are only a game and a half back of the Chicago Cubs for first place in the NL Central Division race to this squad.
Starting today for the Brewers is Jordan Lyles (7-7 4.97 ERA), and also for the Rangers, its Mike Minor (10-6 3.06 ERA). The game is put at nine runs. The Brewers are -126 home favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 11:10 AM PST from Miller Park in Milwaukee.
A trade doesnt seem to earn a lot of sense when it is initially made. This was the case with the Mets and Marcus Stroman, which was true once the Brewers brought in beginning pitcher Jordan Lyles. Before being moved, lyles struggled through an awful year. For runs, Lyles had gotten in his previous four starts prior to getting traded in 1 innings. It is really large, although I really dont know off hand what ERA that adds up to. And you have to remember, this guy was pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates, at the same division as the Brewers.
So, it was tough to expect the man to be better in Milwaukee as he was in Pittsburgh. But he has figured things out so much in Milwaukee! In his two begins with his new team, he has allowed just two earned runs and has pitched a combined ten innings , and the Brewers won both matches. Occasionally a change of scenery out of a last-place team to a team directly in the combination of a pennant race from contention is.
Mike Minor is suffering through the exact opposite of what Jordan Lyles is moving through in that people and he ended up staying in Texas. Minor was a trade target for teams that are contending, but a deal could not be made, and here he is now finishing his season out with a team.
And it seemed because he was awful in July, like the strain of possibly getting traded was wearing on Minor. Going into July, Minor was 8-4 with a 2.40 ERA and has been selected to the Al All-Star team. But throughout the month leading up to the trade deadline, then he had been just 1-2 with a 6.59 ERA in five starts, and the Rangers went 1-4 in those five matches. Those struggles may have been because his value plummeted at the inappropriate time, what kept Minor in Texas. Minors first post-trade deadline launch was a great one because he pitched seven shutout innings.
This can be an intriguing game. I would have loved backing Minor getting pet money. But he has struggled since then, and I am no longer confident that he can go in and shut down a good team like the Brewers. When you look at this Texas lineup, then they simply are not the same with no Joey Gallo about the field.
With Gallo sidelined with injury, this team is 28th in the majors in runs. Theyre scoring just more than three runs a game, and theyre hitting an abysmal .206 . I also know that the Brewers wont be leaving him into the game all that long anyway as they love to turn matters over, while I am not really that confident that Lyles could keep his good effects.
I believe Minor find a way to make the most of this slumping Rangers lineup gets roughed up a while, along with the Brewers with a committee of Lyles and their bullpen and complete the sweep. The Brewers have this, and I spoke about endings, and the Rangers do not. And I am going to make the most of those fire and trends on the Brewers. Give me that the Milwaukee Brewers now as home favorites from match three from Miller Park in -126!
