Harry Kane is an ‘incredible example’ to England’s young players, says Gareth Southgate

Gareth Southgate explained Harry Kane as an”incredible case” into England’s young gamers following his hat-trick inspired them into a 4-0 win over Bulgaria.
The scoring started at Wembley from Raheem Sterling’s cut-back in the first half since England continued their perfect start qualifying before netting two penalties.
The Spurs striker’s hat-trick took him at 40 appearances for England to 25, getting effusive praise from his supervisor, who hailed work-rate and Kane’s professionalism within his press conference and placing him above World Cup-winner Sir Geoff Hurst from the scoring charts.
“We stood and saw him take penalties for around 20 minutes yesterday and when you see the process that he goes through, he just gives himself every prospect of succeeding by that deliberate exercise,” said Southgate.
“For a youngster to have the ability to watch what he can, being able to study him and watch his professionalism and how he works in his game, it’s an extraordinary example.
“If you can be confident about the seat when a penalty is provided, then we’re as confident as we perhaps could be.
“You are aware there is always a possibility that the very outstanding [penalty] can be saved, but in these moments he really has a supreme temperament and technique.”
Kane had a hand in the next goal of England, intercepting a Bulgaria pass and providing the cross for Sterling to convert from close range.
“He works really hard for the group and can be more than pleased to drop into regions to leave space for others and play passes into other people,” added Southgate.
“But when he gets his moment, then he simply has an outstanding attitude and, technically, he’s a top, best finisher.
“But I return to the fact that is hours and hours of practice and if you talk to a few of the other forwards in the squad, they would talk to you about how large an impression that has had on them and the way they practice if they return to their clubs.
“Because sometimes you’re able to take part in completing practices which could be a tiny bit half-hearted or not as concentrated as they could be, but he’s on it each time. That’s where you receive the transfer into the match.”
Asked how it felt to overtake Hurst from the grading charts, Kane said:”Whenever stuff like this happens it is almost always a proud moment for me personally and it reveals the hard work which I’m putting in is paying off.
“Hopefully I can continue scoring goals for several years to come. I set an England shirt on it’s always to attempt to score and help it went for me personally.
“When I am playing with players like Raz (Raheem Sterling) and (Marcus) Rashford, they are going to create so many chances, they are so good in one-v-ones, they will win penalties, therefore I have got to make sure I’m ready for the opportunities that come my way.”
Among the young players Southgate hopes Kane’s influence will rub off on is 20-year-old Mason Mount, that came from the bench because of his England debut.
“It’s a dream to create your England introduction, you wait quite a while for this time,” he said. “You dream of this occurring. It is a slim likelihood it occurs, but it’s definitely such a proud time for me personally and my family. It happened so quickly, it is like a blur !
“I wasn’t that nervous. I was excited to have on the pitch. I adored every minute of it. I’ve loved every moment, although it’s been a crazy couple of months, it has happened so quickly for this moment. I am enjoying learning daily, learning so much from the seniors.”
