POST-UFC FIGHT NIGHT 109: ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Stockholm, Sweden for the fifth time in promotional background Sunday (May 28, 2017) using UFC Fight Night 109: Gustafsson vs. Teixeira. It was a solid night of battles which saw half of 12 bouts finish by end, and with the scraps today in our rear perspective, let us take a look at which of the day’s competitions we may no longer see in action within the Octagon…
ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK
Alex Nicholson
Jack Hermansson was taken on by nicholson and dropped via first-round TKO. He is currently on 1-3 at the UFC and a two-fight deficit within the Octagon. Following the reduction to Hermansson, I presume there is a fantastic chance that Nicholson will be receiving his walking papers from the promotion. In addition to his recent skid, he is also known to make headlines for negative reasons, and that I believe the UFC is going to be happy cutting off ties . I see him becoming published, and I really don’t see him working his way back into the huge show, despite being only 27 years old.
Chris Camozzi
Camozzi came up at a unanimous-decision loss to Trevor Smith and is presently riding a three-fight losing streak in what’s his third stint with the UFC. He was discharged after four consecutive losses last time, and it has dropped just three consecutive this time, but I think that it’s more than likely he will be receiving a pink slip from the promotion. I would prefer to see him get a fourth shot for another time, but I have my doubts about it. Should he get released, I believe this time he’ll head to Bellator rather than the regional circuit in Colorado in hopes of working his way to a fourth UFC stint.
Nico Musoke
Musoke returned to take on Bojan Velickovic in the front of the home crowd in Sweden. He had been up on the judges’ scorecards en route to a decision triumph using half a second left in the competition. That’s when he was caught with a test right hook that staggered him, placing him on ice skates and enabling Velickovic to finish him. The reduction makes it two for the Swede, and he is now four years. I think it is 60/40 he will probably be getting released from the UFC. I lean towards them giving him a third shot because he returned from an elongated layoff, was winning the fight until getting caught and the advertising would use him European cards.
