The UCF Knights men’s basketball Group Signifies The University of Central Florida.

UCF competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the American Athletic Conference (The American). The Knights play their home games in the CFE Arena located on the university’s most important campus. Johnny Dawkins who was hired in 2016 coachs them.
The Knights have appeared in the NCAA Division II Tournament six times (1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981, 1982), including the Final Four in 1978. UCF has reached the NCAA Division I Tournament five occasions (1994, 1996, 2004, 2005, and 2019). UCF has won five tournament championships, seven regular season championships , and twelve conference championships.
UCF played its first intercollegiate basketball game before the team had a nickname. In the Division II era, under Torchy Clark, UCF found success including a DII Final Four appearance. UCF has competed in the Atlantic Sun Conference (formerly referred to as the Trans American Athletic Conference), from 1992 until 2005, when all sports combined Conference USA. From 1975 to 1984, the Knights had been a charter member of the Sunshine State Conference as a Division II team. The Knights had a brief stint at the Sun Belt Conference.
